Girls in Wonderland Take Over Orlando

It’s that time of year—time to pack your swimsuits, sunglasses, and mouse ears and head to Orlando, Florida’s Disney World Gay Days™ for the 2012 Girls in Wonderland. Thursday, May 31st kicks off the magical weekend, and the fairy-dust doesn’t settle until Sunday, June 3th. Even Sleeping Beauty is sure to stay awake through all of this excitement.

Gay Days® weekend began twenty-one years ago, and has grown to become the largest gay and lesbian vacation event in America. Over 125,000 gays and lesbians flock from all over the world to attend this truly magical weekend of gay celebrations, shows, Disney theme park magic, celebrities, and more. Eleven years ago South Beach event producers, Pandora events created Girls In Wonderland and now thousands of ladies have their own parties host hotels and celebrities to play with.

Each year, the Pandora team—Alison Burgos, Yesi Oliver-Leon, and Amy Alonso—raises the bar on this heavenly extra-long fun in the sun weekend tradition. Besides securing spotlight evening entertainment featuring live performances by rockers Halcyon and showstopper, Baby Blue along with a rousing gyrating core of leggy dancers and some of the best Djs on the planet, notably Dj Lisa Pitman, Dj Pat Pat and Dj Zehno. Daily pool parties also whet the appetite.

Numerous splash bashes include music, poolside cocktails, games and giveaways. Bikinis by day, party clothes by night… the immediate goal is on pure satisfaction. But this feel good weekend is also a do good event. Pandora producer Yesi Oliver-Leon concurs, “We are pioneers in producing women’s events for charity. Good causes motivate us!” Indeed, Girls in Wonderland pays homage and partial profits to the trailblazing NCLR, The National Council for Lesbian Rights. This dynamic group is committed to the rights and safety of lesbians and the greater LGBT community and their families through litigation, public policy and education.

The whole weekend radiates with a “Don’t worry, be happy” vibe. To assure that no guest feels uneasy about arriving on time, or getting lost, or drinking and driving, Pandora offers complimentary transportation to and from each nightly venue. Olivera-Leon is pleased to provide this assurance for guests, “Of course we want everyone to have an amazing time, but safety first!” The emphasis is clearly on fun, freedom, and relaxation for all participants.
